Shine is a short comic entry to the Clip Studio Paint International Comics/Manga School Contest 2023. It explores the relationship of a knight and his king, and his struggle around being a tool for the king. He develops a divided loyalty between his King and his people, which leads him to struggle during battle. The comic conveys changing emotional states and story development through colour and texture, and was one of my first medieval style comics. As of right now, this is the only comic within its universe, but there are future plans for an expanded version of this comic.
